Private pickleball court. Room for fifteen. Steps from the Gulf.

The beach is great for about four hours. Then everybody's sitting around looking at each other. We fixed that: a court in the yard, an arcade upstairs, a bonfire every night, and beds for the whole crew.

The space

The court. Full-size pickleball court in the yard, and it flips to basketball. Paddles and balls are already here. This is where your whole trip happens.

Game room. Two arcade machines, air hockey and board games. The kids go in and you won't see them again until they're hungry.

Under the house. The house is up on stilts, so the whole ground floor is shade. That's where the tiki bar lives, plus the fire pit with the propane already stocked. Fenced yard, patio and a table for eating outside. Balcony upstairs for the people who want to sit down.

Kitchen. Stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer. A drip coffee maker and a Keurig, because 15 people will never agree on coffee. Coffee's there too, plus a toaster, blender, wine glasses and BBQ stuff.

Living room. Open to the kitchen, so whoever's cooking stays in the conversation. TV and more board games.

Kids and dogs. High chair, travel crib and stair gates are already there, so you can pack lighter. Dogs are welcome and the yard's fully fenced.

Where everyone sleeps

5 bedrooms, 9 beds, and nobody's on a couch. Bedroom 3 has two twin-over-full bunks, so that room alone sleeps 6. The kids will fight over it. Let them.

Where you'll be

Crystal Beach, TX 77650, on the Bolivar Peninsula.

  • The beach is about a 5 minute walk. Beach towels and boogie boards are at the house.
  • Most folks rent a golf cart while they're out here. Worth it.
  • Driving onto the beach takes a beach parking pass. The Big Store sells them.
  • Two ways in: the free Galveston ferry is part of the fun, but the wait is hard to predict. The drive around the bay through Winnie is more predictable.
  • Galveston's restaurants and shopping are a short drive and a ferry ride away. Watch for dolphins on the way over.
  • Holiday weekends get busy and traffic off the peninsula is rough. Give yourself extra time heading home.
  • Dates flexible? Come midweek. Same beach, about a tenth of the people.

Good to know

  • Check in: 4pm
  • Check out: 10am
  • Quiet hours: 10pm to 8am. That's the HOA's rule.
  • Parties: No parties or events.
  • Smoking: No smoking, inside or out.
  • Dogs: Welcome. Add them to your booking so we're ready.
  • Parking: 6 free spots in the driveway.
  • Sound monitors: Two, in the living room and backyard. Volume only: no audio, no recording, nothing in a bedroom or bathroom.
  • Verification: The main guest finishes a quick ID and rental agreement check in our guest portal. Your door code comes once it's done.
  • Grill: Charcoal. Bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid.
  • Groceries: Do your big run before the peninsula. No food delivery out here, and prices run higher.
  • Bugs: Mosquitoes get bad in early summer. Bring spray.

How many people does Pickle Beach sleep?
15. Five bedrooms, nine beds and three and a half baths, and nobody's on a couch.

Are there extra fees?
Cleaning is already in the price you see. Taxes are added at checkout, and so is a dog if you bring one. You see the full total before you pay.

Why is booking direct cheaper?
The same house on the same dates costs up to 20% less here than on Airbnb, Vrbo or Booking.com. Their fees never touch your price when you book with us.

Can we bring the dog?
Yes. Dogs are welcome and the yard's fully fenced. Add your dogs when you book and the total at checkout covers it.

What's the cancellation policy?
Booking direct: full refund if you cancel at least 14 days before check-in, and 50% back if you cancel at least 7 days before. Changed your mind right after booking? Full refund within 24 hours. The exact policy for your dates shows before you pay. Booked on another site? Their policy applies.

How does check-in work?
Check in at 4pm, check out at 10am. It's self check-in with a smart lock. After you book, the main guest finishes a quick ID and rental agreement check in our guest portal, and the door code comes once it's done.

Can we throw a party?
No parties or events, and quiet hours are 10pm to 8am. If you're coming with family, this never comes up.

Is it good for little kids?
Yes. High chair, travel crib and stair gates are already there, so you can pack lighter.
